This is a holiday not a training camp! I want you to enjoy exploring the Surrey Hills and I tailor the routes to suit all. We run at a social pace and there will be lots of opportunity to stop to take in the views. Having said that the area is a mix of sand, mud, stone with hills and to get the most out of the days you need to be comfortable running for an hour at a time. If you would prefer to skip a running session then that’s fine too! I have never run trail before? What a great opportunity to experience some of the best countryside in the south-east. I am a specialist Trail / Fell Running Coach and so you couldn’t be in better hands. People will need to be comfortable running at a chatty pace for an hour plus. I am training for... Come and tell me about it! Running trail is great for building strength, adding variety and it is easier on the joints. So time spent running trail will be a great addition to your usual training. Jude is an experienced coach and personal trainer and can answer questions about training plans, nutrition, kit, event preparation etc. Can I bring my non-running friend / partner with me? Yes of course. There is a lot to see and do in the area - Leith Hill Tower, Silent Pool Gin, picturesque villages, National Trust properties, great mountain biking to name but a few. Your normal running kit appropriate for a weekend of being outside in July. Including layers, a rain jacket, headwear etc. It is July but you never know and there will be times when we will standing around.
Trail appropriate trainers. The Surrey Hills is not flat and therefore, good grip is essential.
Sun tan lotion, hat and running shades as appropriate.
Running pack to carry spare clothes, personal snacks, water, phone etc
Your favourite snacks, running fuel. We will supply cake and tea etc.
A head torch for running at night on trail. I will have spares just in case.
Any personal medication required.
Casual clothes to change into.
A large towel which can be used as a mat to stretch / strengthen on.
